"Really appreciate how it kept my son engaged"
I was thankful to see my son stay more focused than I expected. The lessons have enough small activities to keep him participating, which made a big difference for us. A few parts did feel a little slow, but overall it was a good experience and I’m grateful it helped keep him involved

"Helping a bit, just slower than expected"
My son is definitely making some progress with phonics and decoding, especially when it comes to sounding out longer words. The lessons are fine, but they can feel a little dry sometimes and he tends to lose focus. It has helped overall, just not as quickly as I was hoping for the price

"Progress reports are decent, but could use more detail"
The lessons have been helpful overall, but based on our experience, I feel like the progress reports could be a lot clearer. I can see a few updates here and there, but they don’t really explain what my child is getting better at or where they still need work. Maybe it’s the same for other parents too, but I’d really appreciate more specific details instead of just basic tracking. It’s not bad, just feels like it could be more useful...

"I just didn’t feel like this was..."
I just didn’t feel like this was worth the price. The lessons were fine, but nothing really stood out to me, and for what I paid, I expected WAY more support or value. It wasn’t terrible, but I definitely wouldn’t pay for it again

"We tried this for my son’s dyslexia, but..."
We tried this for my son’s dyslexia, but we didn’t see much progress. The lessons were kind of hard for him to follow, and he got frustrated quickly. I also felt like there wasn’t really a real person there guiding us or helping when he got stuck, which made it feel a bit impersonal. I was hoping for more support and clearer steps. Maybe it works well for some families, but for us it ended up feeling like a waste of money

"The tutor was really nice and easy to..."
The tutor was really nice and easy to work with, but a few of the sessions started late, and one lesson got moved at the last minute. I was kind of left wondering what was going on ?? It made it hard to plan my day around the lessons

"Helpful support and a fair experience overall"
I had a couple of questions and they got back to me quickly. The support team was friendly and helped get things sorted without making it complicated. To be fair, it wasn’t absolutely perfect, but I don’t expect everything to be flawless. Overall, I felt like they handled it well and I had a really good experience

"I had mixed feelings about the tutoring sessions..."
I had mixed feelings about the tutoring sessions. The tutor was nice and tried to explain things clearly, but there were a few times where they seemed a little unsure. I was expecting a bit more expertise, and some of the lessons felt basic for what I needed.

"Really helped my kid feel more confident"
I’ve noticed such a big difference in my kid’s confidence lately. They seem more willing to try things and don’t get as nervous as before. It makes me feel so happy and relieved to see them feeling better about themselves.

"Not sure we saw the reading fluency improvement we hoped for"
I tried ortongillinghamonlinetutor.com because I was hoping it might help with reading fluency, but I’m not really sure it made much of a difference for us. The lessons felt a little slow at times, and I kept wondering if they were actually helping with smoother, more natural reading.

Maybe it works better for other kids, or maybe we just didn’t stick with the right parts long enough, but our experience was underwhelming. Reading still felt choppy and frustrating after using it, and I guess I was just expecting to see more progress than we did.

"Works fine, but feels outdated"
It does the job, but the materials feel old and basic. it’s the kind of thing that seems avoidable with a little updating.

"Really solid lesson flow with a few speedy moments"
Overall, the lessons are put together really well and they usually move at a good pace. I like that there’s a clear structure, like you know what’s coming next, the activities connect smoothly, and it doesn’t feel random or all over the place. Most of the time it works great for us, especially when the lesson builds from a quick intro to practice and then into review. Every now and then, though, it feels a little fast, like we’re still trying to finish an example, take notes, or talk through a tricky part, and the lesson has already moved on. It’s not a huge issue, but slowing down slightly in those moments would make it even better

"Pretty good for keeping parents updated"
It’s been easy enough to talk with them, and overall it feels helpful. I’m not totally sure what else to compare it to, but it seems like a good way for parents to stay in the loop.

"Hands-on lessons didn’t really meet my bar"
I went in expecting more interactive, hands-on activities, since that’s usually what works best for my kid and what I personally look for in a program like this. The lessons weren’t terrible, but a lot of them felt kind of flat and repetitive. It just didn’t hold my child’s attention or make as much of a difference as I’d hoped.

My kid’s spelling has actually gotten Better after a few weeks. There are still some mistakes here and there, but I can definitely see progress

"It helped with writing, though kind of slow"
My kid’s writing did improve a bit, which was nice to see. Like, they seem more confident putting sentences together now. Some of the lessons felt a little slow sometimes, though, and I found myself wishing they’d move along a bit faster. But overall, it did help, just not in a huge overnight way

"Really happy with the online sessions"
We’ve been really pleased with the online sessions so far. I wasn’t sure how well my son would stay focused, but he’s been doing much better than I expected. The tutor is super patient when he gets stuck and explains things in a clear, easygoing way without making the lessons feel rushed. Plus, not having to drive anywhere is such a nice bonus. Overall, it’s been a great fit for our family.

"Kinda hard to make it fit our schedule"
I really wanted this to work for us, but the scheduling ended up being the main issue. It wasn’t terrible, just kinda more rigid than what we needed.

There wasn’t much flexibility with times, and trying to move a session felt more stressful than it should have. Between school, work, and all the other kid activities, we needed something that was easier to adjust.

I could see it working better for a family with a consistent weekly routine, but ours changes a lot. I ended up feeling kinda stuck and frustrated, so I probably wouldn’t use it again...

"I signed up thinking I’d get more patient..."
I signed up thinking I’d get more patient, step-by-step help, but it felt kind of rushed. When I hit a snag, I didn’t really feel like there was much support or encouragement to keep going. Maybe they’re just better set up for people who already know what they’re doing, I’m not sure, but it didn’t end up being a great fit for me...

"I wish I’d looked for something more personalized"
I was really hoping the lesson plan would feel like it was made for my child, but it ended up feeling generic. A few parts were useful, so it wasn’t a total waste, but for the price I expected a lot more. Support was decent, but I regret not asking more questions upfront because I really needed something more tailored to my child’s needs.
